Women of the West

Women of the West

I have long been fascinated with the women who ruled the west. They lived their days out in what to them was just a day to day activity. Some having large and lofty goals while others barely just survived while so many made history, being in the right place at the right time.

Women like Calamity Jane, Tennessee Claflin, and Annie Oakley were great self promoters, yearning for the public spotlight, living out there lives in full view, and in Calamity’s case warts and all.

Others, Belle Star;the notorious and possible cattle rustler, Charley Parker; the great muleskinner, Cathay Williams; who fought in the civil war, Stage Coach Mary; stagecoach driver extraordinaire, and so many more were just so incredible that we need to remember them, learn their legends, and honor their lives I hope to touch all of them, and share their history with you

Next Post…The life of Tennessee Claflin, mystic to the world.
